Things we'll miss from life in Devon. In verse.

26 August 2008 (10.28 PM)

There’s a lot to be thankful for, being in Devon. Aside from near-continuous precipitation in what should be the summer months, it’s a pretty awesome place to live.

Kate has suggested a short ditty might fit the bill. Brace yourself.

I like Devon. It’s like heaven. (is there so much rain in heaven?)
Clotted Cream. It’s a dream. (see a pattern here?)
Lots of walks. Up the tors. (that’s my contribution.)
Getting muddy, on the moors. (we must remember to take ‘moor care’ with our rhyming)

We are giving up our day jobs, but not to write poetry. Phew!

A comment from Peter Rivet: 8 September (09.55 PM)

You could, I’m sure, do worse
Than record your thoughts in verse
When you reach your destination in the sun.
Of course I know it’s true
There will be a lot to do
But some literary output could be fun!

Your project at Kisiizi
Will, no doubt be far from easy
And it won’t be everybody’s cup of tea.
I look forward to your news
And a few outspoken views
On Uganda, and the things that you will see.
