Telephonic communication restored

4 September 2008 (03.13 PM)

Thanks to our mate Steve, our phone line has been restored. Miraculously, we’ve also avoided losing our ADSL connection too.

When BT cut us off a month earlier than requested, I spent a long time on the phone to their offshore call centre, and things were not looking good.

Steve works for BT, and contacted the internal ‘action line’ for us. Apparently BT provide their staff with a number to phone, in case their friends or family aren’t receiving good service from the company. A tacit admission that their customer service isn’t what it could be? I don’t know.

Regardless, I’m really pleased that we’ve got our phone number back. Not having phone and internet at this juncture would have been thoroughly frustrating.

All a little lesson in patience and tolerance :)
